Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
With your permission, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. Search works without accepting.
Data needed to operate the site
PostalCodes.pt does not ask for an account, name or email address. As with any website, hosting and security services receive technical data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested page, date and time to deliver and protect the service.
Cookies and analytics
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 are not loaded before you accept optional analytics. After acceptance, the site sends measurement to two Google Analytics destinations (G-2JYJK26VP6, site-specific, and G-1Z28WMBXGC, shared across the rubenv.net network). The loader keeps advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalisation and Google Signals disabled, removes query parameters and fragments from the page location sent, and does not load analytics on /pesquisa pages; search terms, districts and municipalities are not sent by the site to Google Analytics. You can decline without losing functionality and change your choice at any time under ‘Manage analytics’.
Data stored in your browser
Your analytics preference and up to five recently viewed codes are stored only in this browser's local storage. They are not sent to create an account or profile and can be removed through the site controls or by clearing browser data. When permission is withdrawn, the site removes known first-party Google Analytics cookies and synchronises the refusal with other open tabs.
Maps
Where approximate coordinates are available, the interactive map uses Leaflet with OpenStreetMap data and CARTO tiles. Some pages offer an embedded map or external Google Maps link. These providers receive requests only when their respective resource is loaded.
Purposes, retention and recipients
Necessary technical data is processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in delivering and protecting the site; analytics data is processed, when authorised, on the basis of consent to measure and improve the service. Technical providers receive only the data needed for their service and apply their own retention periods and international-transfer safeguards. The local preference remains until you change it or clear browser data.
Your rights
Depending on the processing concerned, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing, and withdraw analytics consent at any time. You may also complain to Portugal's data-protection authority, the CNPD.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the service or its tools change. The most recent revision date appears above.
